Richmond’s most prolific, versatile and adventurous drummer, Brian Jones has a boundary-less discography that will make your head spin. His live performances have a similar effect. Whether playing in a duo or big band context — or anything in between like his (Wurlitzer) Trio — Jones’s signature voice always shines through his drumming and compositions. Bare bone musical sketches allow his handpicked bandmates to stretch into new territory. For his (Wurlitzer) Trio, Jones picks keyboardist Daniel Clarke — who in recent years has recorded and toured with artists like k.d. lang, Mandy Moore, Dixie Chicks, and Ryan Adams — and bassist Randall Pharr. It’s musical rapport at its finest.

Musical introduction and interlude will be provided by DJ Rattan, also known as Rei Alvarez, of groups like salsa outfit Bio Ritmo and purveyors of Puerto Rican boleros Miramar.
